Gregory Gay
Gregory Gay is an Associate Professor in the Interaction Design and Software Engineering division in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg. His research interests include software testing and analysis, AI and search-based automation of development tasks, and engineering of AI and machine learning-enabled systems - all with the aim of helping developers deliver complex systems in a safe, secure, and efficient manner.
His research has been funded by agencies including the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Swedish Research Council (VR), and the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems, and Software Program (WASP). In addition, he has an extensive history of industrial research collaboration, with partners including Ericsson, Zenseact, Volvo Cars, Rockwell Collins, and NASA, among others. His current service roles include deputy editor-in-chief of Automated Software Engineering Journal, the co-chair of the Software Technology research cluster in WASP, and co-chair of the the steering committee of the International Conference on Software Testing (ICST). In the past, he has also served as the program co-chair for ICST and the Symposium on Search-Based Software Engineering (SSBSE), on the SSBSE steering committee, and in a number of other roles in the software engineering research community.

Robert Feldt
Robert Feldt is professor of software engineering at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, and at Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden. He has broad research interests spanning from human factors to hardcore automation and statistics, and including software testing and quality, requirements engineering, human-centred (behavioural) software engineering. He was an early contributor to search-based software engineering and have recently argued for increased application of psychology and social science to better understand and improve software engineering. Most of his research is empirical and conducted in close collaboration with industry partners in Sweden, Europe and Asia but he also leads more basic research. He received a PhD in computer engineering from the Chalmers University of Technology in 2002, studied psychology at Gothenburg University in the ’90s and has also worked as an IT and software consultant for more than 25 years. He is passionate about empirical research and methods and to change organisations through technological innovation.

Francisco Gomes de Oliveira Neto
I am a Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. My main research areas are: Automated Software Testing, (AI) Bots to aid Software Engineers, and Scalable and Inclusive Software Engineering Education. Check out my google scholar page and some of my papers in FSE, TSE, JSS, PeerJ, and ICSE-SEET. This blend of areas show my personal interest in both the technical and human aspects of software engineering. I am also a regular reviewer for top journals such as TSE, EMSE, JSS, IST and TOCE.
I also serve as the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) representative for our Computer Science and Engineering department. In this role, I monitor and propose initiatives to foster a more equitable and supportive work environment. I advocate for LGBTQIA+ inclusion and representation in academia and co-organize Girls Code Club, a summer bootcamp to teach programming to high-school girls.

Philipp Leitner
I am an Associate Professor of Software Engineering at Chalmers, a private research university in Gothenburg, Sweden. I currently manage the Software Engineering 2 unit, with approximately 25 faculty and doctoral students. My current research interests are centered around measuring, predicting, and improving the performance of software systems, especially (but not only) in a cloud computing context.
I also lead the Internet Computing and Emerging Technologies Lab (ICET-lab), a research group focussing on various aspects of Internet and cloud computing. I have published some 150 peer-reviewed publications on performance engineering, (micro-) services, cloud systems, and empirical software engineering, leading to an h-index of 45 as tracked by Google Scholar. I am commonly publishing at and reviewing for top conferences and journals in the field, including ICSE, FSE, TSE, and EMSE.

Richard Torkar
Professor of software engineering and head of department in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg.
Post-docs

Julian Frattini
Julian is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg, supervised by Robert Feldt and Richard Torkar. His research revolves around quality of requirements artifacts, empirical research methods with a focus on statistical causal inference and Bayesian data analysis, and some new topics coming soon.
